I have an interview with Mandy Aftel, America’s grand dame of natural perfuming, up at Zester Daily. When I spoke with her back in January, I was most interested in learning how you go about incorporating essential oils into cooking. She has some great tips for experimenting with essential oils in the kitchen. I’ve started using basil oil and black pepper oil in place of those spices and herbs in some preparations to great effect. Do you have any recipes where you prefer the oil over the spice? I’d love to hear about it.
So I’ve been crazy busy helping to plan this year’s Terroir Creative Writing Festival, which is happening April 18 from 9-5:30.
I had thought about teaching a class on how to bring scent into your writing, but then I decided I’d do something a little more general, so l be speaking there in one of the morning workshops about how to write a nonfiction/fiction book proposal.
